The program will feature masterpieces by Johann Sebastian Bach and Arthur Honneger. Bach's genius will be commemorated with his "Suite No. 3 in C major for cello" and "Sonata No. 1 in G minor for violin", two masterpieces of Baroque music that combine technical perfection with deep emotion. The year 2025 is also a significant time, as we commemorate the 340th anniversary of his birth.
The second part of the concert will feature Arthur Honneger's "Duo for Violin and Cello", a composition that combines neoclassical clarity with deep emotional expression. Honneger, although a representative of 20th-century music, had a deep respect for Baroque polyphony and counterpoint, which we also find in his work. The inspiration from Bach is evident, for example, in his vocal and instrumental works, where a similar architectural structure of musical form is evident. The year 2025 is also the 70th anniversary of the death of this important Swiss-French composer, whose work still appeals to listeners with its originality and depth of expression.
The evening will be enriched by two outstanding young performers: Tereza Horáková (violin) and Sarah Jedličková (cello). Tereza Horáková is a talented Czech violinist who regularly performs on prestigious stages and is known for her flair for both baroque and modern repertoire. Sarah Jedličková, a brilliant cellist, wins over the audience with her passion and technical perfection, which draws you into every note. Both performers are winners of awards from national and international competitions and together they form a harmonious and unique musical tandem.
This evening is an opportunity not only to celebrate the musical legacy of these greats, but also to experience the deep emotions that music offers us. Let yourself be carried away by the wave of tones in the inspiring environment of the Arnold Villa, whose atmosphere perfectly underlines the artistic value of the evening. Tickets are available online or on site. Come and celebrate music and anniversaries that connect generations!
